| Located in Melbourne's Docklands, the Nixon Hotel is a pub of presidential proportions, sitting near the (water)gate to the Yarra River. It's also opposite one of the gates to the Etihad Stadium, so it's an easy stopover after catching a thrilling footy match or music event. While the warm, wood-panelled bar is a mainstay for beer and wine enthusiasts, Nixon offers a casual bistro and a secluded fine dining area to cater to different moods. On the mod-Oz gastro-pub menu, you can expect a fine selection of internationally inflected delicacies, such as salmon ceviche, rare kangaroo fillet, and spiced chicken paella.
