Snow babies
Toddlers can learn to ski not long after taking their first steps, with ski schools caring for even the littlest snow bunnies. Children as young as two can have their first private lesson.
Mt Hotham
Hotham's Class 1 Day Care Centre is located at the Big D next to the Kids Snowzone. This makes the entire area a dedicated, safe environment for children of all ages.
Kids Snowzone programs include Milo Mighty Mites (for ages three to six) and Kids Klub (for ages seven to fourteen), and the offer includes lessons, lifts, optional equipment hire and lunch. Kids can also enjoy mini-skidoo rides, shows with Harri the mascot and a dedicated kids race day every Thursday.
The safety of all children is a top priority for Hotham. To this end, every child aged between three and 14 years who rents equipment from Hotham Equipe gets free use of a helmet.
Falls Creek
The Kids Snowsports School (for ages three to five) is a theme-park-style centre adjacent to Cloud 9 Restaurant at the top of Bilia Bullet chairlift. Purpose-built beginner terrain around the centre provides an ideal learning area. First-timers and kids with some experience are grouped according to skill levels and have the use of three 'wonder carpet' lifts.
Half and full-day programs are available, with lunch as an option. The Milo Junior Workshop and Milo Junior Shred Time offer skiing or snowboarding (for ages six to 14), with morning or full-day sessions including constant supervision, lift passes, lunch and a weekly fun race.
Mt Buller
Specialised kids' instructors give two-hour lessons and the class has access to seven beginner lifts. They learn how to stop, turn and ride lifts.
A full-day Bunyip program (for ages three to five) offers six hours of supervised activities, a lift pass, lunch, snacks and games. Your child skis with the same instructor for the week in the five-day program and will enjoy a ski race, treasure hunt, party and medal presentation.
Mt Baw Baw
Mt Baw Baw's qualified SnowSports Team deliver specialised lessons to suit children of all ages based upon one-on-one instruction or group lessons.
Children can also join the SnowSports team for an hour of good old fashioned snowplay and games each weekend over the snow season for an hour of snowmaking making, snowball carving and meeting new friends.
Children aged three and up at the resort can take part in the scheduled Frosti Frog Kids Club activities including colouring in competitions, snowman tours, scavenger hunts and more. Bookings are essential.
The Resort's Village Central facility is home to the free Kids Kave children's room – the perfect haven for weary children. Relax in the jelly bean bags, colour in or watch movies.
The Resort also celebrates a full weekend of children's activities and snow events during Frosti day on 4 August 2007.
