Basketball in Melbourne

Basketball games are of a high standard in Melbourne and draw a large crowd. There are eleven clubs that compete each season in the National Basketball League (NBL), regarded as one of the top six basketball competitions in the world.

The two local teams to look out for are the Melbourne Tigers and the South Dragons. The season runs from October to March and the Melbourne venues are Hisense Arena and the State Netball and Hockey Centre.
