Wildlife viewing – Goldfields

Get close to Australian native animals in their natural surroundings at Ballarat Wildlife Park. Have your photograph taken with a koala, and see wombats, wallabies, kangaroos, emus, goannas, giant tortoises and wedge-tailed eagles at this seven-hectare natural woodland near Ballarat. Don’t miss Australia’s largest colony of Tasmanian Devils, and the biggest collection of crocodiles and alligators in southern Australia.

The region is also home to a number of other wildlife parks and sanctuaries where you can experience everything from dingos to butterflies.

If you prefer to see animals from a distance in their natural habitat, drive through one of the many scenic national parks in the region at dawn or dusk or join a guided bushwalking experience with Entity Educational Native Tourism.
